Malet Meets His Own Ghost

     In the course of the story, Malet meets his nemesis in Larouche, a street urchin who ran afoul of him at the very beginning.  Larouche, angered by Malet's 'high-and-mighty' bearing, dubs him 'Monseigneur'. 
     As time passes and events unfold, they find, separately, that they had more in common than they had thought...
